Ngee Ann Artist of the Year 2018 — Tan Kay Nguan

Trained in both Chinese and Western art, he fuses his Western painting styles with Chinese traditional brushwork, to capture the depth and moods of Chinese ink painting, creating splendid abstract paintings. Through the interwoven and interaction of light, colour, rhythm and motion, Tan is able to captivate and transcend the beauty of ordinary subjects.
