Participation Rules & Regulations for the Ngee Ann National Students’ Calligraphy Competition 2026

1. Categories: a) Primary School;  b) Secondary School;   c) College (JC/Poly/Other Colleges);

  • The competition is open to all students in Singapore. No fee is required.
  • Students from Private Education, Integrated Programme or Special Education can participate in the respective category based on age.

2. Submission of Entry Form:

  • Individual Entry: Student to fill in Google entry form individually

  • Group Entry: Teacher in-charge to fill in Group Entry Form and email to nacc@nak.org.sg

Individual Entry Form(s) must be submitted together with one recent passport-sized photograph of the student (do name the portrait image with applicant’s name or write the name of the applicant on the back of the photo print).

 The photo is collected strictly for identity verification purposes on the competition day and will not be used for publicity.

3. Registration Closing Date:

  •     6 March 2026 (Friday)
  •     Late or incomplete submission will not be accepted.

4.Competition Date & Venue : 

  •      4 April 2026 (Sat) at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, 391A Orchard Road Ngee Ann City, Singapore 238873.

5. Competition Time:

The competition time for certain categories may be adjusted depending on the actual number of entries. Any changes will be communicated to participants no later than two weeks before the competition.

*Each participant who attends the competition will receive a Certificate of Participation.

7.Requirements:

  •  Participants are required to use a Chinese calligraphy brush (soft brush) to complete calligraphy artwork within the stipulated time, using the rice paper and contest scripts provided by the Organiser. ONE final artwork must be submitted. The choice of script and style is not restricted.

8.Stationery:

  • NACC will provide the contest script, ink and 2 sheets of unfolded rice paper to each participant during the competition.

  • Participants are required to bring their own calligraphy brushes, ink dishes, practice papers and any other necessary materials.

9.Announcement of Competition Results:

  • Results will be released on 10 April 2025 (Fri) through the event website and NACC’s Facebook.

10.All winning and selected artworks:

  • NACC will notify the winners to collect prizes on the designated date and time.
  • Will be owned by of the Organiser, who has the rights to reproduce them in any form for publicity or other purposes.

11. The Organiser and the panel of Judges reserve the right:

  • to revoke the award should the individual winner fails to collect the prizes without any valid reason.
  • not to grant any of the Awards, should the entries fail to meet the standards.
  • to cancel the event if the response does not meet the expectation.
  • to amend the rules and regulations without prior notice.
  • to reject competition applications that fail to meet the entry requirements.
  • to decide the winning entries without citing any reasons.
