Introduction of Ngee Ann Young Promising Artist Danielle Xaviera Chloe Poon Yen Chen

Danielle Poon, 29, a Pho Leng descent, is a Singaporean multi-disciplinary artist who works in the medium of painting, resin and photography. Her practice reflects the notions of the archival, of psychology and preservation. The outcomes are stylistic and process-driven, utilising unconventional materials and techniques.

Poon’s works are often inspired by nature, memories and astronomy. She was the one of the finalists of the Angelico Art Award in 2016 and in 2018. Her photography was featured in an online publication by Office for the New Evangelisation. She actively participates in group exhibitions, including Pameran Poskad 2018, The LASALLE Show 2020 and Streets of Hope 2020.

An artist-entrepreneur, Poon launched her brainchild, Dolefulpalettes in 2018. An extension of her practice, her creations are first and foremost artworks, yet elevated into unique handcrafted bespoke accessories and jewellery, with collections for the everyday to the more formal, encompassing designs specific to her brand.

Poon is currently pursuing her degree at LASALLE College of the Arts, majoring in Fine Arts.
