The late Mr Tan Lip Seng was a highly accomplished photographer and a recipient of the Singapore Cultural Medallion in 1985. At the inaugural Ngee Ann Photographic Art Exhibition in 2005, he was honoured as Photographer of the Year by the Ngee Ann Cultural Centre. Renowned for his pioneering work in colour transparency derivation images, Mr Tan earned international acclaim and the respect of the global photographic community. A long-standing Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain since 1970, he was awarded the prestigious Fenton Medal in 1998. His contributions were also recognised by the Photographic Society of America, which conferred upon him the 2nd Diamond Galaxy Award in 1996, the Fellowship of the Society (FPSA) in 1999, and Honorary Membership (Hon.PSA) in 2015.
