The Ngee Ann Kongsi gifts S$4.8 million to four polytechnics for students’ participation in overseas innovation and entrepreneurship learning programmes

22 August 2025

The Ngee Ann Kongsi has pledged a gift of S$4.8 million collectively to Singapore Polytechnic (SP), Temasek Polytechnic (TP), Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and Republic Polytechnic (RP). The gift will be channelled to the existing Global Entrepreneurship Award (GEA), which was set up and funded by The Ngee Ann Kongsi since 2022, to support students from the four polytechnics to participate in overseas innovation and entrepreneurship learning programmes such as internships, student exchanges and global exposure trips.

The Ngee Ann Kongsi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with each of the four polytechnics and will gift S$1.2 million per polytechnic over four years, starting from June 2026. Since its inception in 2022, more than 1,500 students have benefitted from the Award. With this renewed commitment, over 2,000 students are expected to gain overseas learning opportunities. The gift will ensure global opportunities remain accessible to all students including those from less privileged backgrounds.
