The Ngee Ann Kongsi donated $1.8m to the President’s Challenge in commemoration of the Kongsi’s 180th Anniversary.
President’s Challenge aims to promote a culture of unity and respect for all. It is focused on achieving sustained social impact – particularly by uplifting aspirations, abilities, and potential among those facing greater challenges. A longer-term funding model supports these programmes to deliver deeper and lasting impact. Across its initiatives, President Challenge seeks to promote volunteerism, multiculturalism, and cross-cultural appreciation as a way of life.
It continues to develop talents and abilities in every field, especially among those facing disadvantage. This includes the arts and sports as fields for nurturing potential; provide sustained funding for beneficiary organisations, typically from three to five years, to help achieve better and more lasting social impact. In 2025, the President’s Challenge will support 60 programmes from 52 organisations.
