Dr Lim Poh Teck, 61, is a Singaporean of Teochew Kityang descent and President of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Alumni Association, Singapore.
Dr Lim graduated from NAFA in 1987 and LaSalle College of the Arts, Singapore in 1989, he now holds a PhD from Peking University (PKU) Beijing, China, a Masters in Arts (Media Art) from the University of New South Wales, College of Fine Arts (UNSW), Australia and a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education from National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
Dr Lim has represented Singapore in various international workshops, Artists in Residence and Exhibitions. He has received numerous awards, including the Australian Art Award Scholarship in 1986, the Grand Prize in the 9th UOB Painting of the Year Competition in 1990 and “The Young Artist Award” from the National Arts Council (Singapore) in 1997, recognizing his outstanding achievements in the field of Arts.
