The Ngee Ann Kongsi Tertiary Awards for Academic Year 2024/25

The Ngee Ann Kongsi gives out tertiary awards annually to deserving Teochew students. Scholarships are given to students with good academic results while study awards are given to those who need financial assistance.

Eligibility

  1. Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident.
  2. Teochew.
  3. Full-time student of a local university (National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore Institute of Technology or Singapore University of Social Sciences) or polytechnic (Singapore, Ngee Ann, Temasek, Nanyang or Republic Polytechnic).
  4. Good conduct.
  5. Study Award applicant must pass each subject/module.

Period of Awards

Each Award is tenable for one academic year and the applicant must re-apply the following year.

Application Procedures

Please complete the online application and enclose one recent passport size photo and one copy (non-returnable) each of the following documents, in the following sequence by mail: –

  1. Birth Certificate or Singpass screenshot (for proof of Teochew dialect group).
  2. Document(s) to prove permanent residency in Singapore (for non-Singapore citizen only).                                        
  3. Proof of admission to Polytechnic or University (for 1st year students only. For male students, please also submit the first acceptance of university offer, usually obtained during National Service).
  4. Singapore – Cambridge General Certificate of Education “O” Level Certificate and/or Result slip or its equivalent.
  5. Singapore – Cambridge General Certificate of Education “A” Level Certificate and/or Result slip or its equivalent.
  6. Polytechnic and/or University results for all semesters. (With Cumulative Average Point or Grade Point Average)
  7. Testimonials, co-curricular activities record, proof of awards received, etc.
  8. For Study Award applicant, please submit proof of income for the household, excluding full-time students and/or NSman sibling(s). All information on income must be accompanied by 1. employer’s certification letter or 2. pay slip for the past three months or 3. latest income tax statement or 4. CPF statement for the past 12 months. (if 1, 2 or 3 are not available) For self-employed family member, please attach the income declaration form.

Upon completing your online application, you are required to print a copy of the application form with photocopies of supporting documents and mail it to us by 10 June 2024 to:

Important Dates of The Ngee Ann Kongsi Tertiary Awards for Academic Year 2024/25

Application Period:  30 May – 10 June 2024

Closing Date: Monday 10 June 2024, 5pm (Post-marked date)

Interview Date: Saturday & Sunday, 13 & 14 July 2024 

Only shortlisted applicants will be notified by email to attend the interviews.

NOTE:  Failure to attend the interview is deemed as withdrawal.

Award Ceremony: (Details will be released at a later date)

Successful applicants who are invited and failed to attend the award ceremony without a valid reason shall be deemed to have withdrawn their application.
